Mark Oliver Everett, aka Mr. E, the man and genius behind the band Eels, has spent the past few years honing his music and voice to an unmistakeable trademark and growing an awesome  beard. Three years after his last work, a three-album trilogy, Eels is back with Wonderful, Glorious.

A great album indeed, with the right amount of kick ass riffs, such as the phat buzz of Peach Blossom, and thoughtful melodies. A calm, soothing blues, Accident Prone is performed by Mr. E’s voice with the support of a blend of guitar and muted bass. And a cat curiously treading on a keyboard, unnoticed, in the background.
The 10th release in 17 years of carreer with Eels bring us the same standards of  melodic blues and miserable black humour, under a brand new dress. And it sounds that Mr. E is going even huskier than usual, you can’t help noticing a certain resemblance with Tom Waits in songs like Open my Present.
