Dark Horses: Radio

Radio is the first single by Dark Horses

It took me really few notes to fall in love with this song. Alright, they’re not creating anything new and they remind me a bit of The Dø with some extra grit added, but The Dark Horses have something that make me like them. That particular blend of rock, blues, drone, a pinch of psychedelia, urban flavours and melancholic moods. You can play the same old stuff but it’s the way you do it that can strike the chords of your heart. And if this still is not enough guess what’s the b-side of the single, Radio? Radio Offshore, which is basically the same song, sung by Robert Levon Been. bass player of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

You can buy directly on Dark Horses official website, money well spent (considering that it’s just £1.29).

It turns out that since I bought the single and started writing the review, they haven’t spent their time sitting on their arses but actually published music. Here’s the link to their youtube channel. I’m already in love. Sort of.
